HMAS Sydney FFG-03, Modified Adelaide Class Guided Missile Frigate, based on US Navy Oliver Hazard Perry Class.
4,100 tons full load Length: 455 ft (139 m) Beam: 45 ft (14 m) Draught: 22 ft (6.7 m)
Speed: Over 29 knots (54 km/h) Range: 4,500 nautical miles (8,300 km) at 20 knots (37 km/h) Complement: 221 Crew
Mk 41 VLS for Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles x32; Mk 13 launcher for Harpoon and SM-2MR missiles; 1 × 3 in OTO Melara Gun; 1 Phalanx CIWS; 2 x triple Mk 32 torpedo tubes.
Aircraft capability: 2 x S-70B Seahawk or 1 x Seahawk and 1 x AS350B Squirrel Helicopters .
Built by Todd Shipyards, Seattle. Commissioning date: 29 January 1983.
Vertical Launch System installed during upgrade program 8 cells x 4 ESSM Surface to air missiles.
