" HMAS Advance is an "Attack" Class member of the Royal Australian Navy, crewed by reservists , and resides at Darling Harbour alongside HMAS' Vampire and Onslow. Please note she is partially covered to protect her from the elements.

Sydney's own Patrol Boat

HMAS Advance, Built by Walkers Ltd., Maryborough. Commissioned in 1967.
148 Tonnes.32.76 metres in length..
Powered by 2 Paxman YJCM turbo-charged injection diesel engines. Top speed 24 knots.
Armed with 1 40 mm Bofors and 2 12.7 mm Browning machine guns.
Complement 3 Officers, 16 ratings.
Featured in the television series "Patrol Boat".
Transferred to Royal Australian Navy Reserve Sydney Port Division in 1982.
Subsequently transferred to the Australian National Maritime Museum in 1988.
Used by the museum to participate in events in local ports.
Not open to the public, as it remains a working vessel.
HMAS Advance survived Cyclone Tracey in 1974.
One of an original class of 20.
Ships Motto: "Never look back."
Off to Melbourne, and HMAS Castlemaine.
